The vixen export was broken and not making vir or vix files, this is fixed now
There was an error where users could not create a new model, this is fixed.
You can now create single strand targets.
The menus are now cleaner across all the pages
There is a Projects tab (This is what you have been using) and a KurtProjects tab (This is the next version of projects being developed by Kurt Gustafson). Keep using the Projects tab for now. In a few weeks Kurt will transfer all of your project data over into his new and shiny Project engine,
I have some people lining up and helping develop Nutcracker.
MaterDaddy from DIYC has written the routine that will do the database install on a localhost Nutcracker Install
Kurt Gustafson from DLA has taken over the Nutcracker Projects.
This is all good news as more people can help nutcracker improve, we are no longer limited just by my available hours, cross training is ensuring nutcracker can go on as an open source project.
Thanks to MaterDaddy and Kurt!
Local install was released yesterday.
Single Strand effects will come on line by Monday.
Immediately after single strand targets and effects, i will start on horizontal matrices.
thanks

Great! Thanks again for all the hard work Sean. If we have a song that we want entered in as a project who or where do we send it? Say if it was not on that list? I already have the audacity file too with my phrase markings in it too if that helps.

juust past here
1) The name of th song
2) The location of the mp3 file on amazon or itunes
3) Paste the labels.txt
if it is a custom mp3, jsut say that and i will leave the link blank. Your song will appear in teh list that you can copy from. Then go and attach your effects

For the future (aka not real soon yet! *smile*) we hope to have a local import function so that you can load your audacity file directly into your local copy of Nutcracker (for those running a local copy). This will require you to tag your song yourself through audacity and run some function (probably a form with a button to submit) within nutcracker to upload the audacity timing codes and song into the internals of nutcracker itself. But this is for the future. Understand that this upload songs to local capability will require us to code a lot more features into both the master server (at meighan.net) as well as the local code. Some of the features we are looking at for the future are the ability to share audacity timings on songs, sharing effects and sharing models. We are even looking into sharing mp3s, however, there is a lot of legal things that need to be done before we even think of going down that road.
All this coding and never enough time *sigh*

I feel very blessed to have someone like Kurt who has stepped in and in a few days is productive.
Kurt is taking projects while I work single strands and horiz matrix
We are both aware of 79 days until lights on end of nov.

Thanks so much - I dont think any of us can say thank you enough for all the work on this for everyone to have the capabilities to use this precious tool!
Sean, the name of the song is:
Walt Disney World's - Reflections of Earth - I modified it with Audacity to where I want my certain cuts - so it is a "custom" mp3.
I could not find an txt files for it - I moved it to this computer from another computer via usb drive, so I dont know if that has anything to do with it.

You need to go and mark the music phrases. In audacity , drag your mouse and then type
Ctl-b label the first one "phrase1". Mark next one, ctl-b mark as "phrase2"
Then go to the file menu ans select "export labels"
Paste that file here. I will then make your song show up in the library that you can copy from
-
Ok I can paste that file for you in the morning. I have created that audacity file already with my own phrase markings!
Thanks Sean!

Ok here it is - let me know if that is the correct info you were looking for on the file you wanted me to paste for my audacity file for the reflections of earth!
Thanks Sean

Sean - I'm not sure if you wanted all the label tracks posted here but here's another one in an attached text file. The song is a shortened version of the Adams Family Theme Song for Halloween.
-
OK here is the file itself. Sorry.

Posting label files her eis perfect
but ...
i am in the middle of a massive change to all of the nutcracker code (> 1000 lines changing).
this change will all projects to work with Kurts code and allow a button to rebuild all the gallery .etc.
so until this massive change is released, i cant load your files. give me until this next thurs.
thanks
-
Ok no worries! Thanks for the updates and hard work on all you do!
-
It IS a monumental change! We are prepping for new functionality that will -- hopefully -- knock everyones' socks off. I am forcing Sean into slave drive mode too ;) He is gonna hate me when this project is through! ;D

I think I am going to work on an importer for these files. Sean, I will work it until you get the massive change done (and I have to re-divert effort to finish the project function). Shouldn't be too hard for me to code an importer (this will be for the local users). This will import the details about the song and/or allow import of phrase details into the database. This fits nicely into the work we have been doing with projects.

I should have known this! LOL. Okay. You gave me enough to play with in the newly checked in code.
