Nutcracker: Testers Wanted!

For the last few days the nutcracker software has been undergoing a huge re-architecture.

This redesign is going to allow batch operations such as a single button to go and recreate your entire project. It will allow recreating the 3000 thumbnails so that local installs can have a gallery.

I have touched over 1000 lines of code in 100 modules. I could use some help to make sure i didnt break anything.

How to test:

1) Open two windows in your browser
a) meighan.net/nutcracker   <= this is the original code
b) meighan.net/nutcracker_sean  <= this is the new, batch aware code.
2) Login to both windows and then open the same effect with the same target in both.
3) Create the animated gif's
4) If you get any errors or the gifs dont look the same then please post the two links here in this thread.
to get the links, right click the animated gifs and copy url.
5) If everything checks ok, could you also post that info also?
something like : "Checked OK spirals-3, bars-2"
This will give me positive feedback into the depth of testing


It is taking about 2 hours per effect for me modify them. This means it will be a few more days before all have been converted.

These are not ready to test so please do NOT post any messages about them. As the days go forward this pile will move up to the pile that us ready for test.

Nutcracker_sean -- Came up with:

MTH12S Target model needs to be resaved for ../targets/68/MTH12S.dat
ROOFLINE Target model needs to be resaved for ../targets/68/ROOFLINE.dat

When I clicked on MTH12S it wouldn't  populate the mask with the information and when I manually entered the information and submitted it, I got the following screen.

First bug found was that you couldnt resave your targets.

This has now been fixed.

What you pasted here is perfect, i would rather not have to open another document.

now that you can resave your targets, please go and test.

Also, everyone, please always include your nutcracker username. This will help me when i log in as you to verify the bugs.

can you try it again. the code worked on my local install with no errors, but when i tried it on nutcracker_sean i got the same error as you.

The recreate for the Megatree Model seems to be working now.

I tried my BAR1 Effect (maffeirw account) on Nutcracker_sean
It created and displayed the gif and I was able to transfer and run it in Vixen, The only difference I could find was that the highlight switch was on in both but only the original actually had the white highlight ring in the gif and Vixen export. It was missing in the Nutcracker _sean version


Not sure if your testing anything on single strand but when I try to recreate my roofline model after the mask fills in and I answer the length of the 3 strings (106,100,111) I get the following :

I also fixed the gif and picture gallery
Along the way, i found a bug in the gif effect where i could walk out of an array. that is now fixed.
