DLA Yard Logo
« on: January 02, 2013, »
I spent Christmas week at my daughter's house in Utah.   The 6 grandchildren wanted to see some animated Christmas lights so each night for two nights we travelled around the valley looking for light shows. We found lots of animated houses and I saw some interesting stuff. At each house I found myself trying to figure out if that house was a DLA house. I thought maybe 1 or 2 were but I was not sure. Which brings me to my point.
I think it might be interesting to put some kind of yard logo in our displays that indicates a DLA display Perhaps a snowflake with a center area that says DLA. Or a lighted disc with the Lynx on it. Just a thought. There are lots of us now and it might be nice to know  if it is a DLA house. If they all looked the similar, they would be easy to spot.

PS Everything was working when I left, 6 days and 0.9 inches of rain later, everything was still working when I got home. The conductor, the smart strings and the LEs exceeded my expectations. My neighbor was ready to fix something but never had to.

Love this idea.  I also have seen other animated lighted displays and wondered...."wonder what forum they're a part of".  Sad to say, but I've even stalked some of them that have website/facebook pages to find out if they're part of the DLA crew as most of my show is DLA items.

I would be proud to display a DLA logo in my yard though I doubt that there would be anyone from DLA that would ever make it to my neck of the woods.

Rick, is there a downloadable logo that can be used in a yard sign? I have been unable to locate one.

Yes, but it had RJ's name spelt wrong and I do not believe that this is the logo that Rick is mentioning.

lynx is just one of the offerings within DLA.
we shouldn't forget the other contributions (bobcat, etc.)

maybe this can be cleaned up with better resolution.

Agreed. Something more encompassing. Look at all of the software contributions and members that contribute so much. I think it has become bigger than just lynx - not to say that lynx isn't the mainstay and central theme. I think THAT is what RJ was trying to build here.

true, but either logo is pretty much going to need an elaborate matrix to show right....   why not just use DLA Member...
