Title: the future of Chrisatpsu...
Post by: chrisatpsu on December 23, 2013,
a few of you have been concerned over my selling off my stuff in the store area...

I'm not leaving the activity, just one of those when it rains, it pours kind of moments.

Basically started having trouble with the car, just as we were going to go christmas shopping for our daughter (going to be 4 in early January).
Plus with it being so late, and not having my show up, it made sense to sell it off to try to get everything else together this year.

I'll still be active on here, just no 2013 show.
Here's to 2014!

This is why I keep a second car.  We call it the mall car and even though it is not the best looking or the newest, it runs well and only has liability insurance on it.

The Grand Prix's and Grand Am's don't count.  Been through a few of those myself.

Sorry to hear about your car troubles Chris. Glad to hear you're going to be around.

You never mentioned what the other car was doing as far as troubles. You never can tell who's listening.  ;) Not that I can help but you never know.

I used to have a grand am. Until i found out about the head gasket problem. This one is a grand prix and needs some transmission work. Nothing serious, just expensive, nonetheless.

I still love the car. Its supercharged  >.d9

Glad to know it was only this.  Things are always replaceable, people and health are not.  Glad to know you'll still be around.  I gotta steal your pixel icicle light idea once you finally share it with the world!  I looked for them on your "list" but it must be in that super secret vault of yours! LOL

Merry Christmas man...hope you and your family had a great one!

Even three cars after my dad retired from GM I tried as hard as I could to stay loyal but with the retiring of the cavalier and two iterations of really bad Venture vans, we moved over to Chrysler. My dad supports the decision we made.  Here's to hoping for a very prosperous 2014 for everyone at DLA so that we can keep this community alive!

My big family always had suburbans and they served us well.  I've been a Honda guy since about 1991.  I got a new (used) truck recently, a 2006 GMC Sierra 1-ton dually with a LBZ Duramax engine.  Its a sweet beast and gets better mileage then my Nissan 1/2 ton did and way more power.

I get 14mpg if I'm lucky. Mileage is waaaaay over rated :)

i agree mileage is really overrated especially when it comes to horse power if i have to choose horse power wins every time

The Grand Prix that I have, has 240hp, and gets about 18-20 mpg.

The buick v6 engines aren't too bad, can be performance moded substantially and several cars I know can get over 30 with them on the highway, and they are not compact cars.

I've never had a car with a v8, but someday!

The Buick GN had one of those V6's and it pretty much kicked the crap out of all the production cars of its time.  While it is still true that there is no replacement for displacement, many of these modern 6 and even some 4's can kick the crap out of many of the "stock" V8's of the past, including some of the "muscle car" engines.
