anybody know what kind of current i can get away with over a awg30 solid core wire?
2v
5v
12v

You can get away with about 2 amps (any voltage). It WILL heat the wire at that current and you will see voltage loss over long distances.

The actual "power transmission" rating is .142 amps and "signal transmission" rating of .86 amps. If you stay within those two, you should see zero negative effects, even at long distances.
