Etherdongle power supply
« on: September 19, 2012, »
I have lots of power supplies. Sometimes they get mixed up and I get confused as to what goes with what. It would be helpful to me, on the boards that require an external power supply, if the required board voltage and current requirement could be added to the board silkscreen.
I am not sure which power supply is for the Etherdongle and i cannot check the Mouser list because it is not posted yet. i have a 6V-800ma supply that i think is the right one. A note here as to which is the right one would be appreciated.

I have started labeling them but i am not quite done.

Thanks,

Rick S

Rick,
The marking on the back of mine says:
Triad
Model WDU6-800
6VDC-800ma

+1 labellmaker, but paint pen works as well.
I like include firmware revision and configuration information on the labels... Labels are easy to peel off and change while the paint pen is not so much...

channel numbers change
firmware updates
rx/tx as rx or tx?
pixelnet vs dmx on dongles, etherdongles
etc.

I have a box of these wall-warts.  I never know what goes with what!  LOL I usually have to go do a mouser order to find the part.  I guess I should break out the P-touch and get label crazy!
