Greetings,,,

Quick questions.  Are the startup characters you mention actual words, like 60 HZ, Lynx Express, or just jumbles?  And have you tried to run the test on the LE, which you can do without the dongle?

Led 16 lights up with button press normally.

Well, should have watched the assembly video all the way to the end.
I was jus looking at the manual on the wiki.
Yes it says Lynx Express 60Hz.

When i run the test, LED 6 just stays dimmly lit and 10,11,and 12 don't light.
hummmm

Greetings,,,

I believe you got at least 2 kits?  Try the pic from the other kit for led 6 issue.

Hi RJ,

You can ship my fuses with my Dongle PCB order as well.  I won't be needing them until close to November anyhow ;-)

Thanks again!

I vote, fuses in with the Dongle.

Just shows what a standup guy you are RJ, worrying about something that everyone who does anything with electronics should have extra's of.

And I'd like to send a special thanks to JJ for all the countless hours I know you put into sorting these kits, Thank You!

Yep, thats just what i got done doing. It is a bum pic.
Interestingly now that i have a good one working i realize the old one was running slow. The button press responce was slow, LED Segment Display update was slow and the test sequence ran slow.

Odd/Interesting

I am wondering if I managed to give the pic a static discharge, i did touch grounded metal before touching them though. Are these pic's fairly sensitive? The only other microcontrollers i have worked with are the BS2 and the SX 28 DIP, I definitly manhandled the SX chips and never had an issue.

So now do i use this as an excuse to the wife to buy a PIC2KIT?

Greetings,,,

Great!  Yep the slowness is another clue.  We can reprogram the 1st, but having a Pickit2 is nice.

Thanks a bunch for the offer, but i will probably just wait and get pickit2. Been meaning to learn how to use pic's, especially since they announced the end of life for the SX.  Anyways, do you think reflashing it will work? Does this happen alot or is it more likely the pic is just physically busted.

Thanks Again

I had a similar issue, re-flashing the pic solved it. Good Luck..

Over half the people needing fuses are in the dongle coop. And since the pcbs will be here in a few days I will be shipping theirs with the dongles pcbs. The rest I will be packing and sending as soon as I have enough fuses to do so. Should all be out next Monday at the latest. I expect the other part of the fuses to be here Tuesday.

We spent the day packing up kits and used the first shipment of fuses up. We got almost all of the rest of the packages done before running out.

real nice!  ;D

I just finished my very first LE kit and Dongle (well still need to program the pic, but that's a different story).  I turned the LE board on and got the startup message and completed the test sequence...all is good.

Thanks RJ & JJ for everything, I am ready for my first blinky flasy xmas display (may just have to use it for halloween too).
