Can any one explain the difference and pros cons of using pass thru vs. Regenerated out ? Like on the pixelnet splitter, I am not clear how to determine the best way to use it ... Since I don't understand the differences

Simplest explanation is the distance that the signal can go without losing power or having too much noise. Using a regenerated signal will help get better signal through out your display.
Personally I only put passive devices at the end of my Pixel net runs. (i.e. Active HUB->Active Hub->passive Hub).
