Title: Xlights Scheduler Question
Post by: rrowan on February 09, 2012,
Hi Matt,

If the scheduler is running and the box is check to run does xLights keep sending data (all channels off) even though there is no sequence scheduled to run?

I was getting weird light patten with two computers running xLights (one running a schedule) and the other computer testing channels.

When I stopped the scheduler on the first computer that I was able to run the tester with better results.

I assume you are using an Etherdongle? The E1.31 spec requires that a "keep-alive packet" be sent at least every second. So yes, the scheduler and tester were transmitting at the same time. That is one reason why, in the next version, the tester will be merged into the scheduler - only a single set of data will be sent for the scheduler and tester (as long as you are using only one computer!).
