My First 2009 Display Recorded
« on: January 03, 2010, »
Hello Everyone,

Although I’m not new to the whole animation thing but this is my first time recording.  Here is one that got recorded and uploaded.  You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login  I do know that I need to get a better camera for next year that has better white balance and iris for dark recordings.  For where I placed my camera it was hard to see the gables and bushes on each side of the house.

I’m running all RJ’s gear except for my three ED15 4 Channel DMX Dimmer Pack controls each of the 4 driveway pillar lights, each pillar wreath, window candles, and gable and soffit flood lighting.  I have pictures of those controllers and how they are hard wired in.

My website is You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
Dan

This was the first year that I made it into the newspaper.  It’s overwhelming just how many people drive by.  I didn’t get nearly the amount of traffic last year compared to this year.  I guess it’s like the movie “Field of Dreams” (I think) where the voice says “If you build it they will come.”

Nicely done - am I correct that most of the yard ornamentation is wire frames? Were these
commercially purchased or DIY? Would like to see some close up photos if possible...

I did not start to look into the animation thing until a few days before Christams. Am very excited. We do work in the New Phila/Uhrichsville area. To bad I did not know about it when in the area early Dec. Maybe next year...

Dan,

The wire frames are just tomato cages upside down.  I have two for each with 2x100 count of each color (4) on the mini trees.  The micro trees are also tomato cages but the bottom section is cut off and there is only 1x100 count of each color (4).  I got them from Lowes but you have to get them during the spring/summer while they are in season.

Where are you from in Ohio and when will be down in this area again?

Edit:  I just looked at your profile and found where you are from.

Dan,

I took some stil pictures of my display, mini & micro trees.  Some are close up.  When I get them bring them in I can take better pictures including my SSR4 pods.

Nice work. I like how you used the snow for a reflective base  ;D, all I have is dead grass.
Thanks for sharing!
