Snow Ice cream ....
« on: February 12, 2010, »
Well we had a good bit of snow today ... almost 2 inches ... but it reminded me of years ago as a kid  and

SNOW ICE CREAM

This kind of snow is perfect for some snow Ice Cream .. and it is very simple to make ... only takes about 5 minutes ..

Since this will melt fairly quickly get set up first.

you will need A Large Bowl (Plastic works Best) 1 cup of sugar, 1 cup of milk or cream, 1 teaspoon of Vanilla and a wood or plastic spoon.

get your ingredients measured and ready ... first

take your large bowl and over fill it with snow clean preferablely

run inside and mix your milk in first,
then mix your sugar and then one more time mix in the vanilla.

now you have a big bowl of Snow Ice cream ... it only takes a few minutes and you can store what you can't eat for a few days in the freezer ...

hint pull the snow into the center with your spoon.    Dreamie Snow Ice cream

Greetings,,,

Yummy, snow cream...  We used to freeze it and then have it in the middle of summer.  It did pick up a little of the taste of the plastic containers after 6 months or so.   ;D

Oh I think we are good on the snow ....

BTW The bowl should be HUGE ... I used a 3 gallon bowl ...

Then I walked up the street, knocked on the door and ask "do you have an ice cream bowl"

it is amazing that there were so many that never had snow cream before around here....

anyhow it was fun walking down the street eating snow cream and sharing with the neighbors

"hey Honey it is that crazy light guy from down the street knocking on our door. I wander what crazy plan he has this time. I'm not getting the door you get it"

and I have enough for a few months LOL .. so no ... no more snow.

Always the yellow snow joke ...

I spent most of my life in Edmonton, Alberta where there was 8 months of snow and 4 months of slush.  Don't miss that part.   I moved down here to Atlanta 10 years ago and this is the second snowfall we have had.

and here it doesn't stay but for a day or 2 ... just around 2 inches today which is the largest snow fall we have had in ten years ...

I hear that if you move a few miles north you can have 72" of snow, don't know for sure becasue I'm not ready to see any of the white stuff again.
