Just a quick post here.  Power is out and probably will not be back up for several days because of damage to the transmission lines.  Posting this from my iPhone so keeping this short.  We are blessed that we did not have any immediate damage.  Cannot say the same for some for our neighbors.

Huntsville is under a dusk-to-dawn curfew so another reason to not go far.   The bad thing is that all of the gas pumps need electricty to operate and there be no electricity. (unless you have a generator) and that has now moved up on the list of things to buy.

Unless that generator runs on NG or Propane it will not do him much good.  I installed a propane generator (that's the gas type we have) and it has beed a blessing when needed.

Moose thank god you guys are alright. I have been through the same with hurricanes and it is not fun finding out how much you need power for. The good news is while you keep cussing yourself for turning the lights switches on because of habit you will get pass that in about three to four days.

 A quick update here:

 Our neighboorhood had  pOwer turned on late yesterday afternoon.  It was fun going through the house checking each light switch to make sure that it still worked.  And yes we did a lot of switch flipping out of habbit before power was back.  Next on the list is a hot shower in My shower (after my morning coffee).

Still no cable (with my full access to the internet)
but that should not be long in coming.

My heart goes out to those who lost everything and there were many in that boat.
