Title: Test_SSC_Rig
Post by: wbuehler on August 28, 2011,
Decided to create a test SSC rig today.  Works great, just need to find a battery pack now.

Thanks for making the test firmware RJ.

Very smart Bill, I think I need one of these myself.

Looks great Bill

In the coop you ran I ordered extra SSCs so I made one my test rig. I just connected the pigtail and then the same lead jumpers you used.

Works great, I tested all of my SS strings that way

Cheers

Test rig continues to work great, did some test last night using just a 9V battery for a power source.
Worked well for a 75 node string and a flexible strip.

In looking at this the only thing I cannot see is the Cat5 side.  Looks like you have a power connection on pin 3.

The ground is hard t see but what I see is a jumper on 6 and 8.  I am looking to build this exact thing but just could not see the pinouts in the picture.

Hi Kevin

The input side he just soldered a red wired to the PWR and a black wire to the Gnd  leaving the Data spots unconnected
The output side, just a red wire to the +, Green to - and the other wire to the Data (green and black could be switched as needed for type of lights being connected, i.e.: nodes or flex strip ,etc)

The blue jumper sets the output either white (jumper on both pins) or rotates the colors with the jump off (or just one pin)
The 6 pins is for flashing the pic

Hope that makes sense

Cheers

Thanks so much.  That's what I thought but wanted to make sure.
