aeon clock coop
« on: February 17, 2012, »
Just a friendly reminder that a coop is still open for the aeon clock. It's a neat present for someone that can show off your soldering skills.

I'd day now is the time to get in on one. The coop is slowing down a bit, so it might affect how long if might be before another comes around. Get yours today!  Lol

Seriously, it is a pretty cool clock. it unique from the usual hum drum design youll find at walmart, etc..

I bought one last year and gave it to my father in law as a fathers day gift. this time around, I picked up two pcbs, asked my wife where they should go. and she said for the two of us!

The clocks tend to move faster around the holidays when people consider making them as gifts.  You can always find the need for another express but unless you are giving the clocks away, how many do you really need.

I am making one with my son, making one for the wife so she can take it to work and one for myself in the shop. So basically, you are right. People really don't need to many clocks. But they are definitely cool

It is four 15 channel green LED controller circuits, plus one 12 channel red LED controller. Same chips but no DMX input (yet).

and it is a very easy kit to build.  seriously.

Don't get me wrong.... I bought one in the very first coop.  Built it and it is awesome.  I seem to appreciate it the most.  Most people say you spent $50 for a clock?  I say YES I DID!

I too have spent way too much on a clock.  A few years back I built a nixietube clock and spent well past ghe 125 dollar mark.  I still have somewhere about 30 nixie tubes.  It was a great excercise, but costly.  Anybody wanna buy some tubes?

I built 3 last year. Gave one to my brother, one for my office at work and one for the garage. When people see them, they ask where I got them and I tell them I built it. Thanks to RJ, they think I am some kind of electronic genius and I don't do anything to let them think any different.

That's ok.  Just wait until the TV's and stereo equipment starts showing up on your doorstep to be fixed, LOL.

I thought I would put out a reminder to everyone that the Aeon COOP is going to close this Friday if you are interested.
