FYI for smart string folks - the daily shell shocker deal

Good for 16 smart strings and still stays below 80% of max power,
Using 4amps per.

Is a 80 plus silver efficiency rated and 7 year warranty

Interesting, a 950W PS which puts out 1000W on the !2v rail alone.  I guess that it's both an overachiever and can expend its full capacity on 12V if you don't use anything else.

A single active hub can handle 4096 channels... or 4096/3=1365 RGB pixels.
each pixel consumes .356 watts so 1365 pixels will use 486 watts.
reserve 20% and you have 486/.80=608 watts
608 watts / 12v = 51 amps

the 83.4 is overkill for smart pixels. 
maybe use if for dumb pixels.

as a side note, the most you can successfully demand out of the active hub is 66.56 Amps @ 12v
(80 plastic nodes = 4.16A   * 16 ports)

And thanks to RM for the idea of passive hubs...  there isn't really a string count limitation.

So... its just using the greediest nodes times the max number of pixels...

--------------     =   ---------------------
     4.16A                        71A

But, don't forget our 80% rule...

71A / 80% =  88.75A

83.4A won't cut it... keep looking.

if you use the 4 port passive hubs, you still need to power those strings externally, whether it's by running a power line from the 12 volt connector off the hub, or providing another power supply.  but still the demand of each port maxes out at 4.16A

if you go by powering the 4 port passive hubs, then technically the power requirement changes to infinity.
and you'll never find a power supply to power that. even the sun is finate.
