6 months from today is Christmas 2012

Just wondering how everyone is progressing.  This is my third year for a show, but I really did start last month.  I always tell myself I am going to start early and then I am scrambling in October and November.

Right after I finish my July 4th show.

I started planing this years Christmas show in January; right after I took down last years show. My layout changes every year because I add to the display and move stuff around.

We put out 18 to 20 songs each year. Since I move things around I have to start sequencing early in order to have everything ready by Thanksgiving, which is the target date to turn the show on.

Between sequencing, building controllers, flood lights and this year (new to me) low voltgage strobe lights, I am staying busy. I start in September laying out the display and will work at night (because I do have to work during the day to make a living) and on the weekend right up to Thanksgiving.

I might throw a wrench in my Christmas show this year because I am thinking of putting up a small Halloween show (still thinking about that).

1/2 completed my sequencing.  Have 4 more songs to do.  Halloween show is done.  Have some minor build things with the Halloween show (to get my skulls working properly).  I still need to build my smartstring stuff (waiting for hub and SSCs from the COOP earlier this year).

   This being my first year i got all my lynx  expresses built (7), ED and dmx wireless devices built, made some wire frames and sherry (my wife ) got half the songs programed. The lights almost checked  and replaced burnt ones. Now i got to buy  a fm transmitter.  Hope i got enough time to finish everything else. Hope i don't forget to put the lights up,

Besides it doesn't take long to get that static display setup and working. Who needs to sync music to non-animation lights

Well that's not exactly true.  It DOES take a long time to get it set up and working.  It just doesn't take very long to sequence it, LOL!  School is really slowing me down again but I intend to get set up for Halloween this year.  Hopefully I will get the smart strings functional for Christmas this year but I don't know how much more I will get done for Christmas this year.
