Title: Driving 120vac relay from LE channel??

Has anyone been sucessful in driving a mechanical 120vac coil relay from a dimmer channel for on/off control of larger inductive loads (ie. inflatables, etc.)?

I've search our forum and others and haven't come up with much on this, other than a snubber circuit would be required to absorb the inductive kickback spike from the relay coil.

Has anyone found a 120vac relay with a snubber circuit built-in? 

If not then what about using a solid state relay?  Do these work without creating any inductive spikes?

Part numbers as well as any other ideas/suggestion would be appreciated!

Hi theavguy99,

Last year I used a MR-16 controller with a cydom d1210 relays. It worked great, of course that relay is dc driven and its only a on/off relay. I was only turning on or off regular lights but I did put a diode across the replay input screw posts to protect any noise going back to the mr16.

I've been using relays for 3 years.  I found the best relay to use is a RIB. Part no.  RIB2401b     (http://www.functionaldevices.com/pdf/RIB2401B.pdf).   These seem to work well.
