Anyone using one of Ray's 27 channel DMX boards?  You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

I am looking for a little guidance on how I would configure this in LSP

From what I understand these are simply a DMX controller with a selectable DIP switch start address, therefore you could just select a DMX controller in LSP.

These are then set to be a 9 channel RGBcontroller.

I am using 7 of them. What question do you have?

How do you hook up DMX to them since they have the round connection on board?  I am assuming I can replace it with a RJ45 some how but dont have one to look at yet.

I replace all of mine with 10" of cat5 cable and RJ-45 connector. I then use RJ-45 coupler to connect to cat5 cable. I will take pictures and post them.

There is a wiki page on the cat5 conversion cable:

I've got a 27-channel controller and it works well.

I think they support much more current than a single RJ-45 cable can handle so if you use the RJ-45 for power be careful.

I removed the XLR connectors on 5 of my controllers but on two of them I kept them on. You can solder cat 5 cable onto the bottom of board if you want to keep them.

Power is not supplied through the cat 5. These boards require a separate power supply.

Thanks for all of the information!  I am going to order a couple of these to run some "dumb" strings.  I continue to be amazed at how helpful everyone is - thanks again

If you order them from Ray please note that you can get the female four conductor waterproof pigtails in longer lengths. I think mine were 40 cm. Made it easy to have connectors reach the outside of enclosure. Also please see this mod to increase current output. Look at post #48 from user 'AAH'. I have modified all my boards. I have attached a pic of one.

Interesting...
If you start running the current up, you may want to consider heat sinks on the output devices as well...

Which power supply are people getting for this controller?  The one below?
