At Long last........The first ever show came together!!!

It's  a week late and I am exausted, but the show is up and running!!!!!

I would like to say thanks to RJ, Rick Keith and everyone else who has contributed to DIYLA. Everytime I ran into a snag, I would just read through the threads and find the answer. I could not have pulled it off without the help and support of everyone on this site!

The funny thing is that 72 channels looked much more inpressive laying around in the basement. Now that it is up, I'm looking to see what we can add next year.

Thank God the Wife likes it

Hi Tim,

Its awesome to get the first show up and running. You truly know what goes into it and appreciate it even more. Sure we all look at our displays and say hmm I could do this better or there is something missing there. But you know what no one else watching you show knows anything different. They see lights and music playing and totally enjoying it.

That my friend is the true joy of doing all of this crazy stuff.

I have to echo Tim's sentiments.
This site has helped me immensely. I spent hours and hours working on controllers, wireless, dongles, light strings, stars and everything else. My wife patted me on the head and said "That's nice". After 10 months and countless hours, I ran my first program and my wife and neighbors and kids and grandkids thought it was fantastic. I don't think my wife and family thought it would be this nice. I know I didn't .  Now my wife has come up with a bunch more ideas for lights and songs and layouts. This year, I have a small display with 64 channels and about 6000 lights.  It is going to be a lot easier getting money for lights and hardware next year thanks to RJ, Bill, Rick, Mke and everyone else that has helped me do something that I have dreamed about for a long time.

Congratulations on your first show. I like your ....um "arches" or are they "Droops" Very creative. This was also my first year for a show. You are right, in the basement (and my mind) it looked different than in the yard. I learned a lot just seeing the show run. Now, off to 2011.
