Title: Ron's 2008 Sequences
Post by: Ron on June 04, 2009,
I had a request to share my sequence is Vixen from my show from last year.  I'm happy to do this, hopefully this will work and it will be understandable by everyone.  I'm including my profile with the sequences.  There should be several channel sequences that you can look at too, I believe these are saved in the profile.  I used different channel sequence setups to help me with the beats in different songs.

Since I am new here, do you have any videos of these sequences in use online somewhere?

Ron;  I'm having some problems downloading your sequences.  When I run a sequence there are no channel id's.  I can import your profile but there then is no programmed sequences but shows channel names.  Any ideas.
Thanks again,
Bryan

Not sure Bryan.  Honestly I have never tried to do this before so maybe I am missing something.

It might be that I had the DMX Plugin activated in the profile I attached initially.  I'll attach one to this post where that is disabled.

I just tried it on one of my PCs at home with the updated profile and it appears to have worked.  Here's what I did.

I downloaded the sequence files into the Sequences directory.
I downloaded the new 2008.pro file into the Profiles directory.
I started vixen and opened a sequence.

I can see all the renamed channels and such, so I think it is working.

Let me know if this new profile helps.

If that doesn't work then open a sequence and then click on profile manager and select Ron's profile to use.

Ok  Got all the music part to work but I don't have the house layout pop up when it starts to play.  Now what did I screw up?   ???DOH!!  Must be the heat.  We are hitting 100 degrees for the 6th straight day.

also no sequences for arches show up?

Hey Bryan, you didn't screw anything up, I never did a house layout.  I got started so late I never bothered putting one together.

The arches, however, should be in there.  They are colored yellow and somewhere down in the channel count, I can't remember how far down.

Where did you get the LED strobes?

Not sure about Ron but I got mine here: http://www.creativedisplays.com/siteresources/modules/webstore/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=713

They're $47.50 for 10.

I got mine at the same place REM did.  Great service.

You know, the only thing I don't like about these strobes is the way that they all start at the exact same time and take several seconds (and flashes) before they begin to randomize.  Is there a documented mod like swapping a resistor to change that?  I think I've seen it somewhere for the xenon curtain strobes but I don't know about these LEDs.

I was thinking the same thing, about them seeming to all start together.  I have not seen a mod anywhere that I am aware of, but I don't think many people have had these very long.

I may crack into one of mine and see. I'll let you know if I do.

I have my 15 strobes on 3 separate controller channels. I just delay their start-up in the sequence so they don't start at one time.

Good idea Michael.  I tried to pry one open this afternoon and cracked the clear cover.  It's almost impossible to get in those things.

got mine from wow lights.  With shipping they turned out  to be the cheapest.  They also seem to stobe at the same frequency until they have run for awhile. Did read that you can replace the resistor but awfully hard to get into them..

I recall seeing a how-to on the xenon curtain strobes where you replace a resistor to something like a 470 ohm to get it to flash faster.

Sorry we hijacked your thread Ron.

Ron  Back to our original thread.  I still can't get the arches to show up.  Any ideas?

The first set of arches is on channels 181 to 195.  The second set is on 293 to 306.
