Title: V2 case question
Post by: DilA on January 12, 2011,
Am I correct in thinking the only difference between V1 and V2 case is the extra holes for the V2 LED's? I have a V1 dongle and need a case for it, I can live with the 2 holes if it fits.

thanks

Bob

The V1 case is compatible with the V2 board as long as you are able to drill the appropriate size holes for the LEDs.

My V2 dongle is in a V1 case and we used a throttled drill to slowly drill out the new holes for the LEDs.  Make sure you do not drill to fast or there is a chance you can melt the plastic.

I think they were asking if you can use a v2 case, with a v1 dongle.

HAH, in that case it is still compatible you'll just have the extra holes.

I just took the paper template I made and put it on the finished Dongle and then took a marker and outlined where the LEDs were that I had made, then cut the holes out, then marked where the center was on the case and then drilled right there. They didn't come out exactly even with each other, but I don't think I bent the LED leads evenly when I soldered them on.
