I have tried two ED's and two Conductors on two different machines with exactly the same results. The Conductor control panel does NOT recognize either ED/Cond. I all I see is a brief periodic flashes in the Conductor Time window. Also, the floppy drive in each machines acts likes like it is seeking in sync with the flashing. Here is a brief video showing what is happening.

I think it comes down to two possibilities
1 - all of the requires files are not on the CF or you have a file or files over 8 characters long
2 - you have a solder problem(s) on the CF connector

If your EtherDongle had working communications prior to adding the Conductor daughter card and loading the Conductor firmware and it shows a status of "Not Connected" in the Conductor Control Panel when you try it, then as Rick said above it's either one or both of those two items that are preventing you from seeing a normal status of "Waiting". This is not a network communications problem with the Conductor if the EtherDongle was working previously.

The Conductor is rebooting itself over and over, i.e. the flashing, because of an error on the CF reader.

i had exactly the same issue
the following fixed mine the cf card must contain the following
The control panel will not recognize the Conductor until you have created:
1) at least one *.seq and/or *.mp3 file on the compact flash (CF) card,
2) created a password, which will create a password.dat file on the CF card,
3) create at least one show, which will create a file *.sho on the CF card, and
4) schedule a show to run, which will create a playlist.dat file on the CF card.
All four of these must be met before the control panel will see the Conductor.
the above has to be performed with cf card in computer card reader not the conductor
once i performed the above it worked fine

The seq and mp3 files were loaded onto the CF card via my pc. How would you enter a pwd onto the card if the conductor can't see it. If I try selecting the the Password button nothing happens since the CF isn't seen! (this while the cf card is in the conductor. naturally!)

Put the CF back into your reader connected to the computer (not the conductor )
At the bottom of the Control panel select your CF from the drop down "Select Flash Drive"
Click on the password button and enter whatever you want
Click on the Create shows button and add shows
Click on the Create schedule button to add schedule
safely eject the CF from the computer reader and reinsert into the conductor

The Conductor is read-only - no updating of files on it.

Well, not quite! LSP won't export 3 of my 5 sequences, or rather, it will export them but three of them will not play in the conductor. It is somehow related to the mp3. (even though, MediaInfo says that the characteristics of both the 'good' and the 'bad' are the same! So still some more work to do! It is beginning to look like no display this year!

are the file names 8 or less characters?

What version and build of LSP are you using for the export?

I am using LSP 2.5 Version 2.5.4683.24392 For the export to Conductor.

LSP support recommends MP3 be the following for best performance and results:
- 128Kbps constant
- Stereo
- Project Rate 44.1 KHz
- 16 bit
I would recommend that you copy your files from the CF card, reformat the card and then reload the files back to the card.

yep, but the conductor is playing the music not LSP! The problem was that the filename was one character too long so the playlist pointed to the wrong name, a non-existent file!!! I changed the names to be 8.3 format and edited the playlist, then all was well
