Looking for video tutorial about masks and secondary effects and help

Hi all
Last week, I watched a video tutorial (I think it was from David), about how to use masks and secondary effects. I can't seem to find it today... does anyone know where I might find the tutorial. It was about 9 minutes long

Also, when I try to use a secondary it is opposite of what I want, IE I want to go from yellow to red using a mask of up/down and it generates, the layer transition shows as yellow to red, however when it generates it is red to yellow??
