Title: Assembly Question
Post by: AverageJoeTX on January 02, 2012,
In step 2 of the assembly wiki it refers to the 240 and 470ohm resistors, am I confused or are the colors not matching in the photo vs the written. I have 6 of the yellow colored 240 and 4 of the blue colored 470's in the photo the colors are reversed, are they not. Are the yellow bodied resistors the 240's or the 470's.
HELP PLEASE

The color of the resistor's body doesn't matter (at least with any modern resistors - resistors in the early 1900s used the body as part of the color code).  Some companies make them yellowish or tan, while others use blue.

When in doubt, use an ohmmeter or the ohms function on a multimeter to verify the actual value.

The photos in the manual was taken by a member in the beta testing program of the EtherDongle. They purchase small sets of resistors and assembled their board. The coop manger order large sum of resistors to get a better price for us so they will look different but as long as the resistance value is the correct then there is no problem. Like N1ist stated use a meter and match it to the board.

hope that helps

Thanks for the quick responses. Time to breakout the ohms meter
