My first show--- what a ride!
« on: November 29, 2010, »

Well Gentlemen, I seemed to have pulled it off.

What I've learned:
* Good God, you all weren't kidding how much SPT cord I would need. I had to buy 750 more feet then planed at a ridiculous price.

* Sequencing by far is the roughest part of this hobby.

* Set up..... I thought I would never get it done.

* The folks here @ DIYA  are Absolutely the greatest. I can't get over how helpful everyone is and I thank you!

* RJ - I personally thank you for your time and effort to help me in my endeavor.

And yes, I'm going to enjoy a fine Cuban Cigar Saturday watching the lights. <wd..

I do have a question. On one of my LE's,  one channel is consistently on.
Also, on two of my SSR's one channel is consistently on. Crazy thing, on all three it's red lights. Any suggestions?

Awesome job on your show

Congrats!!!!!!
Channel stuck on.
1 - Check for solder problems at the triac, op coupler
2 - Check op coupler for bent pins (remove and reinsert)

Might not be possible to take controllers apart now. So if you have a spare channel than move it to them.

Totally agree, that Sequencing is the roughest part.

Totally agree +1, that RJ is the Greatest - He really looses time getting his show up and running from helping all of us

Cheers

Congrats for your achievement, first show is the hardest then later come the painful when you want to add 5 times more channels for the next year :)

I pulled the op coupler out and the lights still stay on, does that mean the triac is the issue?

I noticed the LED on the particular channle is not lit.

Could be a bad triac or a solder bridge at the triac

Love your flag it looks great! This is my first year also, but I got off to an extremely late start. I am still putting up lights!

I sequenced a couple of songs from scratch, thought they looked ok. Then I download some sequences and attached my profile to them. Wow, my sequencing is terrible!

Unless the magic smoke escaped from a TRIAC, it will usually fail ON rather than OFF.

Time to solder unless you have a spare channel or three.
