Coroplast
« on: January 04, 2012, »
I just picked up seventeen 20" x 22" x 10mm pieces of coroplast from habitat for humanity for $10. Most are in good condition, one or two need minor paint removal. Was that a good buy?

Yes, price wise.
I believe most use 4mm for projects though. 10 might be too thick. I am not a coro expert by any means though.

I was a bit concerned about that, but I figured I could always punch the lights half way through

I think I got 10 pieces of 18" x 24" for twenty something.

I get the small sized coro pieces that you talking about by picking the losers political signs after an election.  Around here they are starting to use plain core covered with a vinyl sleeve with the advertising on it.  Just remove the sleeve and presto you have a 20 x 24 clean piece of core and a stand to hold it.  The GA primary will be on March 16 so plenty of time to do something with them.  Just don't take any signs that are for players in a runoff and wait a couple of days after the election.  I found signs for a couple of weeks after the last elections.

The signs around here don't last after an election. I think it has something to do with an ordinance dealing with signs, because we used to have a huge problem with the losers not picking up signs. I'll check with the city sanitation department

check with the democratic and republican headquarters in your area also, they'd love to have a place to drop those signs off

I got my coro from a sign shop free. There  are always mis prints goof ups and extras. I then spray it with the spray paint for plastic.
