What's the most number of hours you've spent on a song and still used it in a show?
how many channels was it?

This guy said he spent 15 hours for every 1 minute worth of music.  Personally, that sounds about right.  You can tell when someone spends a lot of time.

wow, you know you really did well in your sequencing, when the band, and a car manufacturer comes to shoot a commercial with your light show.

He later did the AMA or something for them too.  I was reading up on his stuff and he cannot use his light show during Christmas because it causes too many problems.

Yep, cool stuff.  He's the "new school"...  Seems like yesterday Carson William's Bud commercial with 88 channels was top dog.

15 hours for 1 minute of music seems right with LSP.  No way this kind of RGB stuff can be done with vixen.

I do think you get more proficient as you learn the craft.
Sam, who is happy he flashed his etherdongle with newest firmware!

I think my first year, I spent about 40 hours on one song ... doing 67 channels.  It ended up being so bad I haven't used it since the 2008 show.

I spent about 15 hours on " I'm your boogie man" the song repeats so I was able to cut and paste some.

You guys are already sequencing?
It's only the first part of October
I still have 35 days until the lights go on.

I havn't finished a single sequence and my show starts in 10 days. I am going to be pulling some late nights. The only reason I am not stressing is that the mouth movements are already sequenced.

For those of you who are planning Halloween displays and are running out of time I have uploaded all my sequences to a drop box that can be downloaded free of charge (they are in Light Show Pro 2.5 format). One sequence has been converted from LSP 2.5 format into Light O Rama format.

The details are in this thread here:

The last couple years, I really haven't had time (or motivation) to do any sequencing till a week (or days) before the show starts.  It's terrible, but I've been so overloaded with other stuff that I'd just get a song or two working for the first night ... and then just convert/enhance/add sequences in December once I got the show setup and operational.  BY the end of December, I've always got things updated.  Now if I could just stop adding stuff, I'd be set ... but I seem to thrive on the changes and enhancements, because the rest becomes boring without something new.

Sequencing is one of my favorite parts. I spend about 18-20 hours for a 3 minute song. I will have about 300+ channels this year.
