It looks like the SSR4 board was designed to use 1/8 watt resistor, but the BOM lists 1/4 watt. The other explanation is that the board was designed for the 1/4 watt resistor to be insterted on it's side (aka standing up). To laydown the resistor, I had to zig-zag the leg to fit in the holes...

The SSR4 manual explains that they are meant to stand up, due to space limitations.

Sorry, I guess I was "skimming" through that part.... once you build a few kits, you kinda get cocky.... :o
I have been trimmed back down to size. I will go re-read the manual ten times! <la..
