Title: Adding Channels to Vixen
Post by: Jimm on April 23, 2010,
Does anyone know how to add channels to the middle of a sequence in Vixen?
Thanks,
Jim

You can add channels by changing the total number of channels.

Not sure what you mean by the middle of the sequence.

What I meant was adding a channel in the middle of the channel order.
So if I have
Ch1
Ch2
Ch3
Ch4
And now I want to add a channel between Ch2 and Ch3, can I do that?
I know how to delete a channel in the middle but can not figure out how to add one in.
Thanks,
Jim

Jim,
I don't know if you can add a channel in the middle but you can change the order that the channels display by going in to your profile and define a new channel order (dropdown box right above Output Plugins). You can take an unused channel and move it between channel 2 and 3.
I hope I made some sense.

I am not sure if this will help but you can drag and drop any channel were you want it (ie channel 1,2,3,4 drag 4 between 1 and 2 now it will be 1,4,2,3 ) hope this helps

Jim,

If you are using profiles, before opening a sequence goto profiles->manage.
Click in the lower left corner to change to channel groups. This will be the very light grey verbiage.
Double click on a channel group to edit or click the + sign to add one and give it a name.
You will need to add channels and go from there if this your first channel grouping.
I will assume you have done this or are editing an existing group from here on.
Next, there are three little boxes/icons just outside of the editing area on the upper left. The first one is "change channel order".
Click to start the editing process.
Drag the channel you want to move and drop it in the place you want to move it to.
Click OK and you're done.

A quick way to rearrange if you have a lot of channels is to double click in between where you would like to insert a channel(s).
Then move up or down to the channel you would like to move and do a "ctrl-click".
The channel will have now moved just above the highlighted line - the one previously double clicked.
OK and done.
