Modifying a vixen file
« on: April 10, 2012, »
I'd like to make a fairly basic, very repetitive sequence for vixen, but I don't want to do it manually. Is it simple to add to the length of a vixen file?
The first sequence will start with channels 1-11,13-20 being illuminated one at a time at 5% brightness, then repeat with 10%, etc.
Next sequence is similar however I want the leading and trailing channel to illuminate at 5% less than the primary illuminated channel.
Finally, building on the second sequence with the remaining channels being 15% less bright than the primary.
If it's easy to vary the duration of the events, that'd be handy too.

Not sure it matters, but I'm changing it to the following sequence: 1-11,13&20,14&19,15&18,16&17

I've researched and this looks like it's not worth the trouble. I'm going to look at using xlights instead

Just to give an answer

I wouldn't do a sequence but a background script in Vixen.

I know the lowest duration that vixen allows for a standard sequence is 25 milliseconds. Does that limit exist in script? Do we know the shortest amount of time that a fully wired lynx display needs to actually cause a strand to flicker?
