Title: 120 ohm SS termination on each SS item required?
Post by: taybrynn on May 28, 2011,
From the pixelnet protocol pdf ...

Quote
End devices do not allow for any daisy chaining, end points are the end of the feed. They
should have termination of the line data line fixed to them of 120 ohm across the data
pair.

Does this mean that we need to solder in something at the end of each of our SS items, between data wires 1 and 2?  Or is this built into
each SSC ?

I was just realizing that if this is required, then I need to order some parts to do this.

The SmartString controllers are already terminated.  The spec is for people designing there own PixelNet and SmartString devices and it really woudn't say much for RJ if he didn't follow his own spec.   ;)
