Node spacing
« on: January 15, 2013, »
What are the node spacing tolerances you guys are seeing on the strings from Ray?  I am trying to figure out how many for arches and a possible mega tree.  Hope that makes sense.

I would recommend you specify to Ray your required node spacing. I did not specify on one of my orders and I was not able to achieve the 3.5" spacing with no strain on the wire that I needed for the project.  From now on i will specify. I am going to be ordering 10 strings with 8" spacing and 16 strings with 5" spacing this year.

Can you specify on any order and any spacing and how accurate is it?

Yes you can specify on all orders. I had some strings made with 5-12-12-12-5.... inch spacing. I would say plus or minus an inch for accuracy.

The ones I ordered last year were pretty consistent at around 4".  The ones the year before were all over the place.  Some as low as 3-1/4".  I would specify what you need and maybe add a little to make sure you can hit it.
