Is it possible to get the PCB's needed for a show this year? I wanted to start out small this year, maybe 16 channels to ease into it this year. Maybe some suggestions on what I should get to start, the Ether Dongle looked good but looks like that is going to be very hard to get a hold of for the season..

Just PM RJ and ask for a USB Dongle pcb and Lynx Express pcb. Then go to the wiki equipment page. Click on the mouser direct links to get the needed parts.

Anything is possible

Cheers

Rick R.

P.S. RJ is very busy but will get to your pm as quickly as possible.

I just check the pcb list. Seems the LE are out of stock

sorry about that

You can go with 4 SSR4s with DMX option instead for 16 channels.

But ask RJ when the LEs will be back in stock

I posted to see if anyone may have some express PCB's but I was looking at the SSR4 option as well. What would I need to make the SSR4's work, it is a little confusing...Should I get a Freestyle and then get 4 SSR4's or is there a way to do it without the Freestyle?

The SSR4 has two modes a relay only or a 4 channel controller mode

Relay mode you need the Freestyle to control it
4 Channel controller you just need to add the dmx option to the kit.

clear as mud?

I have several PCB's for both the LE and LE Dongle.

PCB for LE is Version 5, and the Dongle is V2.

Send me a PM, lets talk...

Don't forget the LE uses a custom heat sink

Joe, PM sent...Rick, what is the custom heat sink you are referring to?

Each Lynx Express needs a heat sink, which lets the triacs dissipate built up heat to it.

RJ has them made at a machine shop specifically to mount to the Express PCB and into the holes of all 16 triacs.

RJ's kit has the heatsinks, screws, spaces, washers and nuts you need to mount it.

The big red thing is the Heat Sink, you will need it.

Also in the WiKi where the LE is at, there are two extremely helpful Assembly Videos that RJ made.  I used them to build my first LE and they really made assembly a breeze.

A must watch.
