2013 Sneak Peek

So here is a sneak Peek for an element I plan to add to my show for 2013.

I got the idea from Sam (zwiller) from his show last year, but he recently named them zwilluminaries.
I remember reading he used large cottage cheese containers and I searched earlier this year for containers to use but did not find any that were reasonably priced and the shape I wanted. I let it go for 2012 but just before Christmas I found what I was looking for...

I purchased 50 $2 each after shipping. They are 9" tall and 5" wide at base and I plan to light them with 3 5050 SS strips each.
The pic is with 3 dumb strips to test.

Thinking, they might look good in 6-8 foot versions also!!!! You would just have to find the right material, and frame it out right.

looks, nice. did you find a way to get the logo off? or is it just a sticker?

I tried to get them without the sticker but the sales manager said they come with the stickers already attached.

My plan was to try to get the sticker off and if it was a pain I would face the sticker to the back.

When I received them, they have high gloss heavy duty stickers and they were very easy to remove in one piece.
Took less than 10 minutes to remove all 50.

I was a little concerned at how thick the plastic was (1/16") but they light up really well with 3 of the rectangular 5050 dumb modules (3 5050 LEDs per module). I think might even just go with 2 modules as they are almost as bright. The best glow is achieved when the modules are flat at the bottom facing up.
