Title: Acceptable LED failure?
Post by: kylec on December 18, 2010,
I ordered a couple cases of leds from one of the pre orders this last year.  1 week into this years display, I had 25% of my new strings with either complete, or partial failure  :'(.  Just wondering what other people have seen, and what would you consider an "acceptable" amount?

This is my third year ordering from the pre sale, and this is the first time I have seen strings go out like this.  Also, all the ones that went out are green.  Are some colors more prone to failure than others?

Kyle,
I ordered 75 strings of C6 LEDs from CDI during a presale and have not had a failure. But there must be something about green. Out of 800 C9 LED retros, I have had 20 failures and 17 of them have been green.

I found a thread over at PC.  Looks like I'm not the only one having issues with the Greens from LED Holiday Lighting.  Not holding my breath on getting them replaced either......Oh well, the mega tree is gonna be smart strings next year anyway.
