Are you working with the 1809 flex or the 1812 flex.  1809 for hassle free cutting is every 30 leds where you see them soldered together.  1812 is every 4 led section without problems.

Myk

I'm using the 1809 flex strips, so it's cuts every 30 leds where I see them soldered together.

I have soldered joints every 15 LEDs.

You're right. I just look at mine and mine are too!!!!!  >.d9 That's even better.

                     Thanks dpitts,

Can anyone post some pictures of these smart strips , both the 15 & 30 cut ones.

Make sure  to include the differences in the circuits between the cut marks.

Mine are in this thread here (they are the 1809 version, that have soldered sections of 30 LEDs):

You have to start the string you want to cut, at the soldered sections, but you can actually cut at intervals of 3 LEDs (out of a full section of 15 LEDs).
So if you cut after 3 LEDs, the rest of that LEDs in that section of string is un-useable (e.g 12 of the unused LED wont be useable from that cut section)

You can then move to the next soldered section of 15 LEDs, and cut that up to start your next string.

Just checked mine, they are in 15 LED sections.

1st Pic is the first input to the 1809 strip so you can see what the ends look like.

2nd pic is a shot of the first input, to the second soldered section (about 20 inches between 1st input and second input)
