Title: Dual SSCs
Post by: travailen on October 21, 2013,
Is it possible to connect two SSCs to the same string and then control the string from one or the other SSC? The SSCs would each have a different channel start number.

Thanks,

Rick S

They will conflict with each other, and corrupt the data. It would be like listening to two people talk to you at the same time, and possibly blow the ssc.

You could control 2 strings from the same SSC (mirroring the strings...)
But I can't imagine that 2 SSCs could share a string.

Rick, my question would be why when the software will control each node anyway?

I am not sure of the answer, but can I ask why you would want to do this?

Perhaps if you explained what you are trying to do we could understand better. I can't think of any reason to try use 2 SSC's for 1 node string. As any sequencing software can turn on the nodes at any time you choose with only 1 SSC.

If your idea is to allow a string to span from one universe to the next, that will not work.  The two controllers will try to communicate at the same time and all the string will get is a scrambled mess for a data signal.
