Hello,
This Coop will be for parts, PCB's, and TX/RX Case for the Lynx Version 2 Wireless gear.
*******Please read this post, there are a lot of options and conditions on this one**************
The manuals, boms, etc, may be found in the wiki: http://diylightanimation.com/wiki/index.php?title=Equipment .
There will be a case option for the Version 2 TX/RX.
By joining this Coop you also agree that the Coop manager, DLA (as a board to also include all administrators, moderators, and members) shall not be held for any liability. You are joining this Coop at your own risk.
As with any Coop this Coop is subject to the forum rules. These rules can be reviewed using the following link.

This Coop will close on 8:00 P.M. EST Sunday May 16 2010 or sooner if needed. Once the Coop is closed I will send each member a PM with the details of their order and what payment is due. Full payment is expected when the coop is closed since orders cannot be made until all members have paid. Please get your Paypal payments in as soon as you get the Coop invoice PM. Please insure your Paypal address info is up to date. Shipping will be by the flat rate boxes and will be determined as soon as individuals' orders are known and which size boxes are needed.
Here are the pricing details at initial ordering amounts. Pricing includes Paypal 3% and Coop 3% fees. As always higher numbers reduce pricing and lower numbers increase pricing. Change your order as you wish during the ordering portion of the Coop, but please make sure I can tell which kits you are changing and desired numbers. Please check the order list that follows to make sure I don't miss your order or any changes as the Coop continues and at the end of ordering.
Kit 1 – Version 2 Tx/Rx Parts Kit
Per Kit at Qty 50 - $34.62
Kit 2 – Version 2 Tx/Rx PCB
Per PCB At Qty 50 - $4.00
Kit 3 –Version 2 TX/RX Case
Per Case At Qty 50 - $5.00
Kit 4 – Version 2 LE/RX Parts Kit (Lynx Express Receiver)
Per Kit At Qty 50 - $19.58
Kit 5 – Version 2 LE/RX PCB
Per PCB At Qty 50 - $3.25
Kit 6 – LE/RX Header Pin (Allows LE/RX to be used with other Lynx gear like the MR16 Controller, SSR4…etc…)
Each At Qty 50 - $.96
Post with the quantity of each kit you wish to order in this thread.
****************************************************
- A question was PMed. Remember, info is in the wiki, but you need Kits 1, 2, and 3 to have a complete Version 2 TX/RX with case. You would need Kits 4, 5 for a complete LE/RX.
- Parts BOM's for this Co-Op have been added to this post.
****************************************************
Insurance will be added to the package shipping cost, when the shipping PM is sent to you. Insurance from the USPS is based on value of the package contents. I am not making this an option, I am sorry if this upsets some but the transceivers that are in these kits are not cheap and I would hate to see someones package get damaged and then have no way to reclaim the loss. We cannot be responsible for lost or damaged packages once dropped off to USPS for shipment.
NOTE: For every 8 kits that you order, you will incur a $3.35 at a Qty of 50 charge for an ESD shipping carton, these cartons are used to pack the Transceiver modules into so they are protected. They are the same cartons that were used in the last wireless Co-Op. Removal of these cartons is not an option. Each box can fit 8 modules.

Lynx Tx/Rx BOM Updated, Price on Tx/Rx parts kit updated.
It was discovered that a part was missing from the Tx/Rx bom, this has been corrected, sorry for any confusion.
Also note that on the BOM for the Tx/Rx there is an alternate 3V regulator listed, this was done to cover a back order condition with Mouser on the original part.

The LE's do not need Kit #6 (The header) is used when you use an LE/RX with something other than an LE like an MR16 or SSR4. Yes just one Transmitter can talk to any number of receivers that are on the same universe it is, provided all receivers are in range of the transmitter.
What Dongle issue are you having? The Wireless does require a working dongle to operate.

Bill
Well if the dongle is needed then phewy - lol . Keep the order the same. I threw the kit 6's in there in case I expand in the future. its only an additional 5 bucks.

I am curious... How many wireless devices will one transmitter/dongle control? Should I add another transmitter?

One Transmitter can run any number of receivers provided that all receivers are one the same universe as the transmitter and are within in range of the transmitter.

Would you modify my order by adding

-
can i run dongle out to a dmx splitter then to 2 transmitters mounted on far left/right of my house to double send signal to all the receivers?
-
This question should not be asked in a coop thread but to answer your question, probably not. While there will be no problem connecting two transmitters thru a DMX splitter, if they are both on the same channel they will probably interfear with each other unless your properety is really large where they are out range of each other. I would place one in a central location and see if it reaches everything and if not, then add the second one on a different chanel and set the channel of the receivers to the closest transmitter.

This Co-Op is now closed.
Please verify your totals. I will start work on getting the quotes, please not that getting all the quotes in could take a bit, as I am also very busy with work this week.
Also soon as I have more information I will post.
Bill
-
Please review your order Qty's and send me a PM if they are not correct. After tomorrow afternoon I will start to get quotes in based on these Totals.
Thanks
Bill
-
Sorry for the delay, I have been swamped with a VMWare/Domain consolation at work.
Once I get a free moment I'll get back to this.
Bill
-
Sorry for the delay all.
I just sent the PM to start the quote process for the PCB's. I'll post more information when I have it.
Again sorry for the delay, works been busy.
Bill
-
I have the quotes for the PCB and will get started on the parts quotes by the weekend.
Work has started to calm down now the the blunt of the VMWare consolation now being done.
Bill
-
All parts lists have been sent to Vendors for quotes.
Bill
-
I have the quotes back for the parts and PCB's.
The billing for this Co-Op will be done in three stages.
This is because we can't get quotes for the cases until we have one of the new PCB's to send the case company to use for mock ups.
1. Billing for Parts And PCB's.
2. Billing for Cases.
3. Billing for Shipping charges to you.
Bill
-
All first round payment PM's have been sent.
The cost break down for the kits came out to the following:
Kit #1 Transmitter/Receiver Parts $32.70
Kit #2 Transmitter/Receiver PCB $2.61
Kit #4 LE Receiver Parts $18.00
Kit #5 LE Receiver PCB $1.96
Kit #6 LE Receiver Header Pin for LE/RX use with other Lynx gear such as MR16 $.79
The PM's you received already have the Co-Op and PayPal fees included. You will also receive a case payment and shipping charge payment separately. When making your payment please no E-Checks.
I will now unlock this thread.

Well done Bill <res.

Hi Bill,
Are you posting the "payments received" status for each order / user somewhere? If not, doing so might be helpful.
While I think I paid, perhaps you overlooked it (or maybe Paypal whacked out on the payment or something). If I knew you hadn't received my payment (though I made it), I could chase it down & make sure you got it quickly...
Also, "friends" might help others get their payments in (if you know what I mean ;)).

I am currently working on a list, but with this many people it takes a while.

Please everyone remember that this is a big co-op. It will take some time for all members payments to come in for various reasons.
Don't worry I will keeping tracking and checking lists as needed to keep the Co-Op going.

If these last few payments have not been received by then, they will be dropped so the Co-Op can continue.
Bill
-
I was out sick all day yesterday and unable to post.
I had looked over the list, we had 4 members that did not pay by the deadline.
This has left a number of kits that can now be ordered. I will wait until this evening to see if these sell. After that I will need to look into the costs to see if this will effect pricing.
Kit #1 TX/RX Parts = 13 available
Kit #2 Tx/RX PCB = 13 available
Kit #4 LE/RX Parts = 13 available
Kit #5 LE/RX PCB = 13 available

A new payment status list has been posted to the 1st post.
If you see your paid but do not see Paid next to your name please let me know right away along with your Transaction ID so I can get this corrected. As of now all non paid members have been removed and kits are backup for grabs.

I'm a little confused. Final prices were sent via the payment PM's.
The cases still need to be priced, and shipping as well, but I will not have the case prices until I can get a PCB to mock it up.

Bill, out of curiosity, did the case shop give you an estimate on turn around time once they get the case spec'd out?

Bill, out of curiosity, did the case shop give you an estimate on turn around time once they get the case spec'd out?
I have not spoken to the case supplier yet. I was waiting for a PCB first, but RJ maybe able to answer this one since he did the last case Co-Op.
RJ
Do you remember what the turn around time was on the cases during the Co-Op last year?
Thanks
Bill

A few ESD shipping boxes are on Back Order but I have received all the parts!!!!!!!!!!!
Bill
-
I guess I am a little confused also.
I thought the amount I had already paid was only a partial for some of the parts, which made sense because it was a lot lower than i had expcted.
But, if all I owe is for the shpping and cases, I am exstatic!!!

Yes, currently only cases and shipping charges are still due.
When I have the case prices a payment PM will be sent, once I have the cases in ans get everything packed, then shipping payment PM's will be sent.

Bill not to be pushie or anything what what type of a shipping date are we looking at?
Harrison
It depends on when the cases come in, the cases still need to be Paid for, Ordered, and then shipped to me.
The PCB's are on the way, as soon as I have one I'll get some basic parts on one of the TX/RX boards and get it sent off to polycase.
Once polycase get back to me a price I'll send out payment notices for the case, once the all case payments have been received, payment will be then sent to polycase.
I wish I could give shipping dates, but there are to many variables that are out of my control.

There is different firmware for the V2 gear. This is because the V2 firmware is a single firmware that works for both the TX/RX and the LE/RX.
But this V2 firmware only works with the V2 PCB's. It has not been posted to the wiki yet.

A TX/RX PCB was sent to PolyCase today overnight.
NOTE::::::::
According to PolyCase they are averaging a 4 Week turn around for custom case work. Before any one panics here is my plan.
The Co-Op only needs one renaming part sorted the Transceiver modules. Once this is done I will send payment notices out to ship the parts, this will allow all users the ability to assemble the gear. The cases can be shipped later when they come in. Doing this will allow users to get there hardware ready and then just put the TX/RX into a case later.

Hello All
It's nice to see that some of the packages have started to show up and members are getting there kits assembled.
I have received some PM's about the shipping. I have thought about this and would like to post a response for all to see.
I am sure that some of you have noticed that the shipping box was a bit big for those that had a small number of kits. Before I receive any more PM's about this, let me explain.
Yes some members could have had there parts put into a Medium fate rate box instead of the large, but it was originally intended to ship the cases along with the parts. After talking with PolyCase and finding out that it would be a 4 week turn around, a decision was made to ship the parts ahead of the cases so members could assemble the kits without anymore delay.
It also takes time to get shipping materials ordered from the USPS. Even though the boxes are free it can take up to 14 days to receive them. This is why I went with the 100+ large flat rate boxes I had from the original plan. So yes this meant for some that the box was bigger than needed. If this upsets you I am sorry.
Thanks
Bill
-
The bigger box just means I have more room to "hold" supplies until I get things built!! ;D
-
I don't mind the difference... I got my package! Thanks for all the hard work.

There is not one yet for the ver 2 units. Read over the manual for the ver1 and the only differences are that you do not modigy the RF module(cut) there is not amp chip or antenna it is on the module, there is an extra three pin jumper to choose if it is a Rx or TX and there are two leds and resistors for them but the rest is all basicly the same.
The silk screen on the pcb shows where to put everything and with a read over of the ver1 manual you should have no difficulties.

It's not mine, belongs to the office.
I'm a driod user myself.

Cases look great!
Will there be a payment required to cover shipping of the cases?
(sorry if this has already been answered but I couldn't find it)
Matt
-
Yep,
I'm sure Bill will PM a shipping cost once the cases are boxed up.
-
All shipping payment PM's have been sent.
Please forgive if you sent in payment earlier and received another PM as I did this in bulk. Just sent me the Transaction ID of the first payment.
The small flat rate box was used for up to two cases. Larger than 2 cases will be done in padded envelope or larger flat rate box.
Sorry for the delay all, I have been sick the last couple of days.

Thanks Bill for all you've done in the co-op. I got my cases and they look a whole lot better than the ones I did myself <fp.
The fit wasn't quite perfect - I didn't like the way the board flexed when the RG-45 went in the hole. I did a little trimming of the bosses on that end and that fixed it right up (something like 1/16th of an inch). ;D
Thanks again!!

How much flex are we talking? Maybe its an issue with the machine work on the case? I have a few extra I can send out a replacement.
I put a couple together and did not notice any flexing.
Bill

Mine had some flex until I noticed that I hadn't trimmed the legs on the regulator. Trimmed the legs and they fit perfectly.

Thanks again,

Received my cases yesterday, but have not put together yet. I'll put mine together tonight and let you know if I have any issues. Thanks for everything Bill!
-
Bill, Thank you for you hard work with this coop. Everything works the charm. Good look with the rest of the coops that you have taken on.
-
No need for case replacement.
When I first put the board in with the RJ45 in the hole, the other end of the board was ~1/4 inch above the holes. I'm not one to force a circuit card to lay flat so I took out my flush-cutters and cut the thinnest slice off the top of the bosses on the connector end of the box. After that, the RJ45 was centered in the hole before putting the screws in...
Both of my boxes were the same, so I figured the machining must have been off a just a wee bit.
I just wanted to share in case someone else had the same issue, trimming the bosses was the easy solution (I started to get out the file set...).

I too needed to shave my RJ45 hole very slightly. No big deal at all, they work and look great! Thanks for doing all of the hard work Bill! Cudos to your wife as well! ;)
-
Bill and family,
Thank you for all of the hard work running the many coop's this year, and the screws too!!!!!

Hm, mine fit perfectly. However I was concentrating more on how to install the LEDs so they fit the holes. ;D The case looks fantastic! Thanks a lot!
