Flex Strip on Wire Frame?
« on: November 24, 2012, »
So I've got my show up and going and as I watch I'm coming up with some ideas for next year.  I've got the bug :)

One of those things is changing some old wire frame incan snowflakes over to RGB.  They are the standard incan rope light on a wireframe, 18".  You think I could put a flex strip on it or would it be better to put nodes on it?

They looks like this layout wise.

For me the problem with flexstrips is that
1. they are too directional and
2. they can not be cut just any old place which makes them hard to fit.

YMMV

They also only bend one way which makes them useless for any curved pieces on the wire frame.
If at first you don't succeed,
your not cut out for sky diving

I would suggest getting with Rainlover.  He has a pretty good setup for his star this year.  You may be able to modify his design in to a snowflake.
