Lip Syncing Software
« on: September 12, 2012, »
I have been thinking about building talking pumpkin animation sequences too, but don't really have the time to invest.

I came across the following program which might be helpful to others.

It appears you can sync songs to animations using this tool.  What would be cool is to be able to take the output file from this app and create a basic LMS or Vixen file that you could then refine.  At the very least you would have all of your timings defined.

Dennis Cherry (one of our forum members) has done some work using this tool -- it is very effective!

Dennis has also shared some of he best practices in a number of workgroup settings.

Some of us have been using Papagayo for a number of years.  I find it invaluable to sequence my talking props.  If you intend to use Vixen there are a couple of plugin that might help.  They convert Papagayo files (or dat files) to use in Vixen.

If you use LOR look for here itsmebob's Papagayo to Lor (6th program down)

I've been using it this year and it is pretty good, certainly gets you most of the way there. The bigger challenge for me has been working with in in LSP and the "GRID" there.....I have to be very careful to make sure extra timing marks are not added for other parts of the sequence until after I have completely finished the facial animations. I am not working them always faces first and save those as separate LSP files then save it as something else when I start adding the light sequencing.

2011 - Year #1
    4000 lights and 16 channels
    5 Songs sequenced
2012 - Year #2
    5000 lights and 123 channels
    8 Songs sequenced
