I thought that CAT5 and CAT6 used the same connectors RJ45 the differance is in the cable

I've been told by our network administrator at work that while there is a difference between CAT5 and CAT6 cable (the most obvious being the extra plus sign-shaped plastic to keep the pairs separated), the different plugs also keep interference to a mininum by separating the wires in a diagonal zig-zag pattern (Here's a sample image: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login). Don't know how much of difference the last 1/2 inch of wire on each end makes, but I know that it's easier to assemble the 2-piece design.

That's funny, its not my picture, I just grabbed it off the internet.  Obviously not made by a person that works with it and knows the 568B wiring....
