Title: New pixels?
Post by: ponddude on July 02, 2011,
Are these the new pixels RJ was talking about?  Saw they were put on Ray's site today.

If so, RJ, did you test these yet?  How water tight are the plastic enclosures they are in?

I was wondering if they might be like these, but with 3 wires:

Are TM1804 and TM1803 the same or compatible?

taybrynn - that link seems to come up with 'page not found' at least for me today.

Scanning Ray's store, there are a whole host of node form factors which look pretty interesting.  Not the least of which is this guy:

Just needs a different chip!

Interesting, the link was just removed.

They looked like the one shown in the picture below:

I do not have any more info on them yet as I am still waiting on them to arrive. Once I have what is being sent I will post pictures and comments.

RJ - You sure know how to build suspense!    <pop..   I'm not sure which I like more - weeks of suspense building up to a big reveal, or troubleshooting and issue for 18 hours, then finally finding my mistake!

taybrynn - I did see that guy when I was scanning the node list.  It's an interesting configuration, though the down side is the wires still exiting at odd angles (at least for what most of us want) and the price ~ .80 per node.  The little flat / square guy has wires more conducive to being in a string because they exit 180 degrees opposed so there is no 'peel apart' issue, and at 55-61 cents a node, it's comparable to the current pixel strings.

Either way, interesting times ahead!  >.d9

I just realized that they were 1804's and not 1803's.  <fp.

Time to do some research!
