Lynx Express and Dongle Success
« on: October 21, 2011, »
I probably shouldn't be making my own thread about this. But I can't help it, I have successfully built my first lynx express and dongle without any problems. Being my first time soldering I expected to have to troubleshoot. This has not been the case, the products work exactly as described and couldn't have been simpler to put together. Now its time to start my sequencing...

I want to thank John (rainlover) for programming my dongle PIC. It's nice to see kind people willing to help others in the drop of a hat.

Unfortunately the animated lighting obsession has already begun. I blame RJ for being poor.

Congratulations on getting your dongle and express built and working.  It is a good feeling getting the first one done.  Yes RJ does put a dent in our wallets LOL but it is worth in IMO

Truely, What better reason could there be for starting a new thread? Other than maybe if you had problems and need some help.

Congrats on the success this is what we are here for!

congrats! I hope I can make a post like yours shortly. Just out of curiosity, how long did it take you to assemble the boards?

I'm not exactly sure how long it took me. I would say somewhere around 4 or 5 hours for the express. I took a few breaks so I did it over two days. The dongle was super easy after putting together the LE. I would say maybe 30-45 minutes for that.

Good luck with your build. I downloaded RJ's videos of the Lynx and followed the instructions in the manual. If I ever got confused I would open the video up and see what RJ did.
