Quick pixel question
« on: July 22, 2013, »
Hey all,
I started using pixels last season and everything worked great.
Today I started working on testing everything for this year.
The first couple of strands worked great but the third one had a problem.
The first 5 nodes light up fine but the rest of the string is dead.
Does that just mean I have a dead node?
If I replace that node should the rest of the strand work?
Thanks all.

It could be either the output of the 5th node or the 6th node itself. I would cut between the 5th and 6th and attach the 6th to the ssc. If the 5th node is the problem the string will light. If not, the 6th is the problem most likely. I assume this strand worked last year? Because occasionally some people got strings and a node would be wired in backwards.

is your ssc configured for 5 nodes?

Thanks I will try that.
Yes, if I hook up another strand then all the lights work.
I am using the same SSC for the test.
Thanks again.

If it does end up being a bad output of the fifth node, I would just move it to the end of the string so it won't be wasted. Then I would use a permanent marker on it to remind you that it does have a bad output.
