Title: Lights on when show isn't playing...
Post by: shgshgshgshg on December 15, 2012,
I know that Vixen has a feature that can have a script playing when a show isn't playing, but I'm not sure how to write this script. Is there a template or an instruction manual on how to write this sequence anywhere, or is there an easier way to do this?
Thanks

I've never played with this, but what about
Sequence -> Set Background Sequence, and just use something simple. like a 1sec sequence of just static lights on?

That is what I initially tried, but vixen said it needs a scripted sequence and not a vixen standard sequence. It looks to me that scripted sequences are written in C#...
Thanks for your help though...

Here is a script that I used back in 2008

There used to be a great article by a member but it seems that post was lost when DLA moved to the newer software version.

Thanks rrowan, is there anything I need to do in order to get the sequence to function? I can't get vixen to run it properly...

I was afraid you would have more questions.  ::) Going by my 4 yr memory

You have to enable background scripts in the Tools, Preferences menu under background items
Then under the Sequence menu you set your background script.

Of course my script won't work in your show since the channels names won't match
