Title: RGB WIRING TO MR16
Post by: TexasStingray on April 21, 2012,
What is the best/safest way to wire up a RGB String to the MR16. The reason I as is that the MR16 has a positive for each channel and the RGG only has on 1.

Thanks
Scott

Any positive is electrically the same. So, literally, take your pick.

If you check with a multimeter in Resistance mode, you will find that they "are one"

What you want to do is, the first Pos.(+) you connect the black lead(this is normally the color but could be some other color)
Then take the red wire connect it to CH1 Neg(-)
Then take the green wire & connect it to CH2 Neg
Then take the Blue wire & connect it to CH3
That is one complete setup.

Now if you want to add more do the same thing just use the next set of 3 CH.

To make it simple, the MR16 is negative switched so you can connect your positive to any of the positive leads since they are all always on.  Then connect your negative leads to the negative of the channels on the MR16 that want to use to control the string.
