One channel not working
« on: December 04, 2010, »
Evening all,

Just finished my 15th Express (Version 5) and channel 14 does not come on.  The led does not light, and there is not any voltage at the output terminals.  I have swapped the opto with another channel, swapped the pic with a working Express, and redone all of the solder joints for this channel and am stumped.

Ideas?

You should post some pics of the board so that we can see what is going on.

Greetings,,,

Is the led in correctly?

Did you check the pic socket pin?

Gotta be something simple.

Likely a backwards or bad led on that channel. Does the led light during the test?

The led doesn't light at all, during testing or otherwise.

Replace the Led being sure it is in the correct orientation.

Thanks, guys.  I'll give that a try as soon as I can, and will let you know.
