NavyGator's Icicle Light's
« on: January 05, 2013, »
Hi Guys,

I wanted to share my method of mounting my icicle lights. I used 1/2in PVC with eye bolts/hooks and zip tied my icicles to them. The power cords are bundled together and hang behind the PVC. I took 1 1/2in PVC and made the Express stands.

Great job. I like the way you hid the cords.

I try my best to hide the cords as much as I can for two reasons

1) It looks a lot neater, instead of being a bit of an eyesore during the day for my neighbors.
and
2) it kind of keeps the public guessing as to how it is done.

How did tear down go, and how are you storing them?

I am still taking them down but I have not got my storage idea finalized yet. I am thinking that it is going to end up being brackets used to hang a ladder from the wall. I hope to have it figured out tomorrow or over the next couple of days.

I will take a picture of that once I get it finished also.

Looks like you have some holes in the wood, maybe from last year??

It would be a good idea to seal those with something. Over time, if water gets in there, the wood will start to rot.

That was actually from the first idea this year that I did not like. I used some clear caulk I already had so that is why the holes are still visible. I think I am going to paint the house when I get back this year.

I saw a guy on the crazy Christmas lights show this year that had icicles lights like that, along with 200k lights.
