I just finished building my first MR-16 and Ether Dongle Thursday evening then
went over to a friends house today and got him to flash my chips.
We tested the MR-16 with the DMX tester and it works fine, we then flashed the
etherdongle with dmx firmware.
Then I installed Vixen on my windows 7 laptop and added the ether dongle plugin and setup
and setup one dmx universe channels 1-512 plugged the ether dongle straight into the laptop
and the mr-16 boards and sent out a test signal to the channels we had setup on the mr-16...
I am getting flashing lights on the the ethernet input but not getting any output to my mr-16
What do i need to try
Thanks

The 513 may be causing an issue. The first DMX universe is 1-512.

Try the older version of the Etherdongle Vixen plugin. Its in the software section of the wiki.

Remove the newer version before adding in the older version (ver 1)

Got mine working. I had one of those <fp. Doh moments. I had forgot to disable my notebooks wireless interface and once I did that the ED came up working.
I did use the V1 driver but I am now going back and try the V2 driver to see if it continues to work. Will Advise.

Made the change to the V2 of the driver and 'It did not work'. :(
Put it back to V1 and the Edongle began working again.

Well I guess mine should have worked if we had turned off the wireless also LOL
Hey Tom Thanks for all the help.

Update:
Turning off the wireless on my laptop was the solution and now my EtherDongle and Mr16 are working fine
plugged straight into the network port on my laptop.
Thanks

just remember, if you plug a dmx device directly into your etherdongle, you are limiting yourself to just the first dmx universe (the first 512 channels)
you'll need a combiner used backwards to split the cable into the 4 universes that the equipment can see.

Thanks for the heads up Chris, I am currently waiting for the current Smart String Co-op to finish so I will have a combiner that I can run
as a de-combiner LOL...... I am still a newbie but learning fast on what I need to be doing. I have a few things on order from Ray to play
with.
