Anyone know where to find these tree's ?
« on: March 26, 2011, »

Anyone know where to find these tree's ? The green ones with the star.

If I can't find them to buy, I'm planning on building them. But if someone has already built these, please share your knowledge.

Those do look pretty cool.  I would also be interested in some ideas on building them.  One thing that I would suggest and will also look into myself is a way to build them where they fold flat for easy storage.  10 or more of them would take up a lot of space if stored whole.

I bought I think two similar to them at Walmart about three years ago.  I think they look the same but don't have the base on the bottom so they are not as tall.  I think they are only 3'-4' tall.  Still stashed in the shed as I haven't used them yet.

If you have access to a torch and a small welder they wouldn't take much to build.

The selection for this kind of stuff has been dismal the last two years.  I look for the selection to be better this year but not by much.

They look close, but not exact.

I have a better picture of the trees in question.

I'm giving myself a few more days to locate where to buy. If I can't find them,  then I'll start fun of trying to make my own.

These are clearly retail items.  I don't remember ever seeing them before but they would make a nice foundation for smart strings as well as the green rope light.

Might be able to be made with coat hangers... lol.  If you have plans do share - I have no mini trees yet and I think those would work wonderfully.  I unfortunately  can't get 10 zillion lights this year and this is my first year so something need to start simple - so I can do my rgb led mega tree (minor mega tree but still nobody else in my small town has done this yet so it should still be the talk of the neighborhood.)
